About Us Mission Statement: GearTec is a full line job-shop manufacturer of industrial gearing for OEM's and users. We "make-to-your-prints" with primary and secondary manufacturing performed in house. Gearing includes helical, spur, herringbone, worm, and internal gears, hobbed, shaped, milled and ground to AGMA Class 8 or better. GearTec's quotation and estimating department is one of the best in the business with over 25 years experience. We deliver via fax or email very cost competitive quotations usually within 48 hours. GearTec's machinists have exceptional skills and a combined 200+ years of experience. Company History: We are a 115-year-old "new" company. GearTec was established in 1988 as the "small gear" captive shop of a major Cleveland manufacturer of custom design gears and drives. Approximately 45 machines and existing employees were re-located 16 miles east of Cleveland in a separate 35,000 sq. ft. facility to enable a focus on reducing "smaller gear" costs and lead-times. A cellular manufacturing layout supports a JIT concept and greatly facilitates our keeping focused on reliable deliveries, low costs, short leads and even breakdown service. Employees are extensively cross-trained on secondary machines in a Total Quality Management System. As GearTec grew our unique strengths, sales requirements, and part sizes differed sufficiently from the parent company to justify selling the "division" to the management team in 1997. Today GEARTEC, INC. is a privately owned company operated by a team of highly skilled employees with decades of cumulative gearing experience.
